Mothers Who Know

"Mothers who know" do less. They permit less of what will not bear good fruit eternally. They allow less media in their homes, less distraction, less activity that draws their children away from their home. Mothers who know are willing to live on less and consume less of the world’s goods in order to spend more time with their children—more time eating together, more time working together, more time reading together, more time talking, laughing, singing, and exemplifying. These mothers choose carefully and do not try to choose it all. Their goal is to prepare a rising generation of children who will take the gospel of Jesus Christ into the entire world. Their goal is to prepare future fathers and mothers who will be builders of the Lord’s kingdom for the next 50 years. That is influence; that is power." ~Julie Beck

Kathryn's Insight

Hey everyone! On Saturday my mom and I went to decorate her new classroom. It is spicey hot!! We spent friday night filling up the van and taking it over to Saratoga Shores. Then at 10:00 AM we went over to set up the class room. The over all plan was that we would set up and then go get the rest of the things we needed at Walmart. (us cheap O's) After we would go shopping we would go to the ward dinner we were planning at 5, but since we were in charge we had to be there at 4. If only life goes the way you plan!!! Instead we ended up up leaving her unfinished classroom at 3:30. Sticking 4 girls (on top of every thing we had one of our cousins over while her parents went and played for their anniversary. But it fun) in the back Me in the front and making Darren ride the scooter to the stake center. My dad had the van to pick up the sandwiches so we had the little car. As we arrived we had a little problem they had just repainted the lines and were packing up. So we had to drive so carefully so we didn't end up like Lighting McQueen with white wheels!! LOL Then the Sprinklers wouldn't turn off so we had top find someone to turn them off. At 5:15 the sandwiches arrived you have to remember they left supposedly at 2 o'clock to pick them up at 3:30. Also half way though the party the sprinklers came on again, right where the sprinklers were was the playpen with Alec inside, luckily superhero Bro. Hanks was there and ran and saved the baby that was in distress!! Don't worry we finally got that same sprinkler off then out of the blue another set came one!! Finally the party was over, but my mom and I still needed to go to Walmart and get some stuff so we can get our (her) classroom finished. So we convinced my dad to come we left around 8:30 finished the classroom went shopping and made it back by midnight!! Here is my mom's new Classroom!!!!!!

PS the pink on the board is a "hairy" material on clearance at Walmart. the Green is material also.

Kathryn, you're so awesome for helping your mom. It brings back memories of helping my mom get her classroom ready too.

The room looks great. I hope you have a great year (and fun at the camp next week).
