Okay so tomorrow is our 16 year anniversary! I know you are all young mommas but I have been married almost longer than I was single. I have a son that is 14.5 and my baby is 7.5 so it is okay to be married for 16 years. Anyway I had some great students give me gift cards last week for teacher appreciation so we went to Thanksgiving Point and saw "Made of Honor" I know it is a chick flick but Ryan agreed. We even "made out in the theatre" okay nobody was there yet and we were mostly joking. Gross I know. Anyway the movie was funny but pretty predictable. The other reason he agreed is that he had taken Darren to see Iron Man with one of our gift cards last Saturday. (of course we saw a matinee' even though it was on my students I still have to get the biggest bang for my buck!)
Next we went to Cafe Rio. I got 2 gift cards to there plus I was on my 10th meal so we got a free meal and I put my salad on a gift card. The best part about Cafe Rio is then I have left overs and actually have a lunch to eat at school not my "slimfast" lazy lunch that I keep in my classroom cuz even though I get up at 4 in the morning I don't spend time making a lunch.
Then I decided to use my Hollywood Video gift card and rent 27 Dresses. And when we got up to the checkout we had a free movie! So the only thing our whole date costs us was the gas! Yippee! I'm such a cheapskate. Ryan wanted to keep going places incase we could get more FREE stuff!
I'm so glad to be married to such a fun guy! He is really a good sport and my biggest supporter. He was funny because when he came to pick me up from school he had thought to bring me a snack plus had brought me a jacket because he knew that at night I get cold and since it had been warm he knew I wouldn't have one. I love that we can go have fun, whether it is grocery shopping, hitting golf balls or just hanging out!
This weekend will be nice because Darren and Kathryn have to go to Aspen Grove all day tomorrow. And Ryan and I have sealings in the temple at 6:am so by 4 I'll be ready for bed!
Then of course it is Mother's Day! Ryan is always the first to remind me that His mother is dead and I am not his mom so he is not responsible for me. Only my 5 kids. Steph already warned me to bring a book into my room on Sunday because I am not allowed to come out until they have brought me breakfast. Last year my kids made Crepes with fruit and cream, bacon, hash browns, omelets, orange juice and strawberry smoothies. (See it does pay to have older kids, hee hee!)
Happy Mother's Day to all of you moms!
